والمؤمنون يرون حقا ربهم *** وإلى السماء بغير كيف ينزل
Shaykhul-Islam says:
“And the Believers will see their Lord in Truth (in the Hereafter) *** And to the heaven does He descend without (designating) a how“
There are numerous evidences within the Quran as well as the Sunnah pertaining to Allah being seen on the Day of Judgement.
From these proofs is the statement of Allah (Glorified be He) in His noble book:
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاضِرَةٌ ° إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
“Some faces that Day shall be نَاضِرَةٌ (shining and radiant), looking at their Lord.”
There has also come a narration in the Sahih of Al-Imam Muslim on the authority of Suhayb Ibn Sinaan that the Prophet ﷺ said: “When those deserving of Paradise would enter Paradise, the Blessed and the Exalted (Allah) would ask: Do you wish Me to give you anything more? They would say: Have you not brightened our faces? Have you not made us enter Paradise and saved us from Fire? He (the narrator) said: He (Allah) would lift the veil, and of things given to them nothing would be dearer to them than the sight of their Lord, the Mighty and the Glorious. Then the Messenger of Allah recited this Verse: ‘For those who have done good is the best reward and even more’.
The narration of Abdullah bin Jareer is also from the most explicit proofs indicating and affirming the fact that the believers will see their Lord and this narration does not cease to exist in the books of Ahlus-Sunnah.
On the authority of Abdullah bin Jareer who said: We were sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ) and he looked at the moon on the night of the full moon and said, “You will see your Lord as you see this full moon, and you will have no trouble in seeing Him”.
